Jeffco VOST Recruitment

The Jefferson County Virtual Operations Support Team is excited to start recruiting members!

We are looking for great team players who can amplify our message and supplement our public information efforts with unique skills and talents that we may not already possess or simply just don’t have the time to implement during an emerging incident. We are also looking for individuals who understand how important it is to maintain a public information strategy that holds tightly to our core values of Integrity, Innovation, Partnership, Service, and Accountability – (see www.jeffcosheriff.com to learn more about our agency and our values).

At this time we are accepting members by invitation only.  If you receive an invitation please respond to us via facebook, twitter, or email (jeffcovost@gmail.com). We will respond by sending you our VOST handbook as well as a simple volunteer form. As the Jeffco VOST is attached to a law enforcement agency please know that we will ask you to submit a volunteer application that will require a basic background check.

We look forward to adding great members to our team!

SMEM and Distaster Fatigue

This is just a quick landing place for a number of resources that were shared during the 4/19/13 #SMEMCHAT regarding #DisasterFatigue and Stress reducers in the wake of the Boston Marathon Bombings and subsequent manhunt.

Many thanks to all of the SMEMCHAT participants!
